Play on , quick play finish, adjudicateWhat do you prefer? me i think that quick play finish is the only way to play. Problem is not everyone has the time to play the game on another night, so the only other choice adjudication. How many times have you been in a game, a pawn down & and your adversary is making safe moves because he wants to get to 30 moves for adjudication, also with adjudication you never seem to get to the end game , which is a shame because you are only ever playing part of the game. It also effects your congress form, because you are ok in the opening & middle but absolutely pants at the end game because you have not had much experience in it. Why not have the option there in all of the leagues divs that if players on the night want to agree that they can.
Anyway what does everyone else think?

Personally only play on or finish on the night should apply, I think. Don't believe that adjudication should be an option. Can't see someone like Topalov/Anand saying can't be bothered to rush this tonight - shall we let a computer decide. Doesn't allow anything like human error / psychological errors. How many times have I been a worse position but then fought back etc and vice versa - adjudication doesn't allow that. Preference is to finish on the night as per congress tournaments etc - can't play on there. 1hour and 15 mins for first 30 moves followed by 15 mins extra to finish. 10.30pm finish if both players run down their clocks.

Hey, I'm just a new boy, what do I know, except.... I have just experienced my very first 'adjudication' last week. For me, this was a particularly confusing and unsatisfactory way to finish a game. I expect the adjudication to annouce a loss for me (and quite rightly all considered). However, the game just kind of stopped. It's half-ten, time to go - game over - by the way you lost! And we only completed 32 moves! Finish on the night is the only way. Div 3 rules seem a lot better - it gives a max time for a game of 2.5 hours. If this is not long enough for the 'serious' players then why not start earlier, say 7:00, and have a 3 hour game?
